Oh for Pete's Sake (Pete)
2016 17.0 Thoroughbred Gelding

“Oh for Pete’s Sake,” affectionately known as Pete, is a 10-year-old off the track thoroughbred from the Turning For Home rescue organization with talent, heart, and a love for the job. While he truly comes alive on the cross-country course, his expressive movement and presence easily catch the judge’s eye in the dressage ring. Pete is currently competing Beginner Novice level in eventing, and schooling Second Level movements at home with the talent for much more. His natural talent for collection and lateral movements have given many riders their first taste of the upper levels. Pete was carefully brought along by Veronica and her daughter, Sienna, throughout the past couple years and flourishing in his new role as a sport horse.
Brave yet sensitive, Pete is a thoughtful partner who will work as hard as his rider. This gelding consistently pushes everyone to ride to the best of their ability while being a confident mount over jumps. Pete is a big talker, he's the first one to whinny and nicker at your arrival as well as eagerly awaiting a meal. On his downtime you'll find him pestering his adopted brother, Darwin. He’s also learned a few tricks such as “smiling” in exchange for a treat and will happily soak up a well-earned head scratch after a good ride.
