Program Overview
Fuse Horsemanship: the step by step mental and physical training of both horse and rider with the goal of doing any riding disciplines more athletically, seamlessly and accurately. It follows the pyramid progression of classical dressage from rhythm to collection. The goal is that all riders and their horses become athletic, willing, and dependable partners in any endeavor.
A strong program emphasizing the individualized biomechanics of both horse and rider allows for the development of a balanced, independent seat and moving with the horse naturally. It is the methodical practice of rhythm, relaxation, suppleness, contact, connection, impulsion, straightness, collection, all in that order:
-
Before you can achieve suppleness, you must establish relaxation with rhythm
-
Before you can achieve contact, you need to achieve suppleness.
-
Before you can achieve impulsion, you need to establish connection or contact.
-
Before you can achieve straightness, you need impulsion.
-
Before you can achieve collection, you need straightness.
Fuse Equestrian puts this concept into practice and facilitates progression, by way of exercises and movements, to produce a horse and rider that exhibits partnership in all you do together.

Services
Lessons
We offer a year round lesson program to our clients. Though always keeping the classical training scale in mind, our instructors place great emphasis on rider position and correct use of aids in order to achieve a correct and happy team. Lesson times are flexible throughout the week and weekend to help the busy or working rider find a fit that works best for them.
Trailer In
Fuse Equestrian welcomes students from around the area to trailer-in for lessons. The farm has easy access and plenty of parking for trailers and all students are welcome to use the facility's amenities during their visit.
Virtual
With the growing use of technology, Katie now offers her expertise to students with a wider range of possibilities. Whether you live near or far, find it hard to trailer-in for lessons, away at a horse show, or have other limiting factors. Katie offers live video lessons or a comprehensive review of video.
Training
Both Katie and Veronica ride with a feel, both mentally and physically. We work to build the horse's confidence and inspire them to work in harmony with the rider. Our individualized skill sets show positive results both on the ground and in the saddle. We enjoy working with horses of all levels and keeps an open line of communication with the owner to help them understand the training process.
Leasing
Fuse Equestrian has a prominent lease program for our clients who are looking for extra time in the saddle and around the barn. In order to make progress as a rider, spending a good deal of time in the saddle is a requirement. While purchasing a horse is a great option for some, it may not be for others. Another possibility is a lease (full, partial, or quarter). If you are not ready for the commitment of horse ownership (and maybe even if you are), leasing is a great intermediary step. It is a great way to get extra practice time (and horsey enjoyment time!) so that you can continue increasing your skills, even if you are not ready or able to purchase.
Showing and Coaching
Fuse Equestrian travels to numerous schooling and recognized shows throughout the year. Katie highly enjoys the competition atmosphere and works with clients to come up with a plan, aiming for success now and in the future. Coaching is provided for our students and showing Fuse school horses. For more information on Fuse Equestrian's show schedule: click here.
Buying and Selling
A fitting partnership is the key to happiness. Katie will help with both buying and selling in order to achieve a correct match for both horse and rider.
